Don't be fooled by the sleek design. This is the second most powerful high-end CCD scanner on the market today after the Flextight 848. Flextight 646 offers high resolution, high speed, true 16bit color, auto focus and a lot more. The 646 is easy to operate and offers Imacon's 3F file format, which maintains your original 16bit scan data and keeps a full history of each output setup you use, thereby giving you true "scan once, output anywhere" captures.
You can even scan best-quality negatives for results just as good as from positives, and just as easily, taking full advantage of the latest developments in negative film. The 646 comes with Firewire and SCSI interface. You can even choose your color! The Flextight 646 is available in red, blue, dark grey and light grey.
Creating the versatile image file
It has become much more important that the same file can be repurposed for any media. Whether the file is used for the web or it is to be printed using high quality offset printing, it is imperative that it look it's best. The only way to achieve the highest quality output is to start out with the best quality "Raw" scan.

FlexColor software is the tool able to handle this workflow. FlexColor software will have dual functionality, as it is used for scanning and to prepare files for future reuse.
