Founded in 1995 by Greg and Tara Lamb, Global's team of professionals specializes in bringing pre-sales consultation, full system integration, installation and training across a wide range of image capture, image management, output and finishing solutions. Zund Systemtechnik AG is recognized worldwide as the leading manufacturer of multifunctional digital flatbed cutting systems.
"This is an excellent opportunity for Global Imaging, and for our customer base," said Greg Lamb, CEO of Global Imaging. "The Zund digital cutter product line has always set the industry standard for cutting, and these products perfectly complement our portfolio of large format and superwide format printers." This partnership will allow Global to introduce its client base to improved workflow and business management solutions. Lamb adds, "The bottleneck in the production of superwide format products is not the printing; it is in the management of data, finishing of the print and the business systems. We already provide the best printers along with powerful EFI workflow software systems, and now we can help our customers achieve super efficient finishing with the Zund digital cutters. Global Imaging can present a solution that addresses workflow and business systems as well as world-class printing, our product portfolio allows us to bring a unique value proposition to this industry."
The Zund flatbed cutter can be configured customized to the needs of the client. One can choose from 14 cutter sizes, a range of tool heads and a variety of media handling options. The size of the cutter ranges from (31"x31") to (126"x118"); depending on the dimensions in frame or side support version.
According to the terms of the agreement, Global Imaging will sell the Zund product line on a national basis to the sign and graphic markets. Global will continue to support its existing customers, including service bureaus, sign shops, and several print service provider franchises, in addition to seeking new Zund opportunities in the designated markets.
As a testament to the skills brought to bear by Global Imaging and the readiness of their client base to adopt these technologies, Global Imaging has already secured placement of two of Zund’s digital cutters in the first 30 days of the agreement.
